IME mission 2011 with 1001 Fontaines in Cambogia

​

1001 fontaine is an association that aims to sustainably improve health of poor and isolated populations in developping countries allowing them to produce locally and sustainably a healthy drinking water.
They assure the construction of water production stations in villages so that children have access to a drinking water thanks to to sponsoring system.
For this project, the mission of team IME was to identify solutions allowing more children to profit from the project and study different techniques of sanitizing water in order to multiply the possibilities of intervening and adapting them to each and every situation.

 
ESTHER mission 2012 with WWF in Madagascar

WWF (World Wild Foundation) have been in Madagascar for 45 years. They implement a protection of nature and of environment program focused on fighting deforestation, preservation of fauna and flora species, saving marine habitats and water, and promoting eco-tourism. WWF conduct their project with local authorities and communities.
ESHER worked on a project which aim was to enhance life conditions of rural populations by restructuring and/or implementing systems of sustainable management of lands.
This important project fell into various domains of action:
- Observation of agronomic systems already implemented to identify possible ways of improvement
- Studying cultures to feed farm animals
- Analysing the issues of environment degradation
- Identifying activities generating income that are best adapted to the situation of studied areas.

YEMA mission 2013 with Planète Urgence in Bornéo

YEMA 2013 Mission with Planète Urgence in Borneo​:

 

Planète Urgence is an association that supports projects implemented in situations such as social and economical vulnerability isolation, of populations and destruction of natural environments.
Its actions are centered around professionnaly training and accompanying adults, supporting education, protecting and restoring biodiversity, agroforestry and fighting against deforestation.
Planète urgence has been working in Indonesia since 2007 in a rehabilitation project of mangroves and communautary develpment in North Sumatra and Aceh.
This year, Planète Urgence is also working on Borneo island, to develop an adaptation project on climatic change and sustainable management of the Mahakam delta with Indonesian NGO YML (Yayasan Mangrove Lestari).

YEMA will conduct an expertise mission related to this project.


The team is currently discussing with members of the NGO to define the goals of the expertise mission. Potential activities could focus on mangrove ecosystem rehabilitation, supporting coordination of the actions of local partners for a sustainable management of the area, developping sustainable and certified aquaculture, protecting biodiversity and conserving endangered species and the develpment of eco-tourism.
